Andy Davies offers professional drum tuition informed by years of live performance, musical direction, and real-world industry experience. Lessons are performance-led and designed to build strong technique, musical awareness, and confidence — preparing students for real playing situations, not just the practice room.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Studies) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Certificate of Contemporary Music from the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). His formal training is combined with extensive professional performance experience, ensuring lessons are both technically sound and musically practical.

Professional Development

Andy’s teaching is further informed by ongoing professional development and international study, including intensive training undertaken in the United States with Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl, Tommy Igoe, and Jojo Mayer. This work focused on contemporary technique, time feel, groove development, and performance-based musicianship at the highest professional level.

Rather than isolated concepts, these studies directly inform Andy’s practical teaching approach. The emphasis remains on clarity, consistency, adaptability, and applying technique in ways that support real musical situations — from ensemble playing to live performance.
